The Magallanes Reserve, a paradise for trekking and nature lovers, has more than 60 kilometers of trails on which it is possible to appreciate the native flora and fauna.

 

Its location is very close to the city of Punta Arenas, so you can access an excellent view of the city and the Strait of Magellan.

 

The reserve stands out for its hydrographic protection, wildlife and deciduous Magellan forests, where the lenga, the Magallanes coigüe and the ñirre predominate, it also has a varied fauna such as caiquenes, chincoles, chercanes, black and Pythian woodpeckers, loicas and thrushes.

TRAVEL SERVICES

  • It can be accessed by the extension of Salvador Allende Avenue, heading west from Punta Arenas. The road forks at the Lynch estuary, generating a road oriented to the Las Minas sector, where the Administration is located (Route Y-570).

  • Through theBocaTomasector,it can be accessed by extension of Calle Ignacio Carrera Pinto, parallel to the Río Las Minas.

  • Andean sector, can be accessed by prolonging Avenida Salvador Allende, heading west from Punta Arenas (Route Y-580). This sector is exclusively for administrative and research uses.

ACCESS TO THE RESERVATION

  • National child (age equal to and less than 11 years) income released.

  • National adolescent (12 to 17 years old) $ 1,500.

  • National adult $ 2,500.

  • National elderly (over 60 years) income released.

  • National disabled child (age equal to and less than 11 years old) released income.

  • National disabled adolescent (12 to 17 years old) income released.

  • Disabled national adult $ 1,500.

  • National elderly disabled person (over 60 years) income released.

  • Foreign child (age equal to and less than 11 years) income released.

  • Foreign adolescent (12 to 17 years old) $ 2,500.

  • Foreign adult and senior citizen (includes disabled persons) $ 5,000.

  • Picnic sites $ 5,000 and $ 8,000.

  • Park rangers are empowered to define activities.

RATES

SERVICES WITHIN THE RESERVATION

  • The Reserve has trails for hiking, the main trails are: Reduced Mobility Trail, BocaToma Trail, Las Lengas Circuit, Los Ñirres Circuit and Los Coigües Circuit.

  • Snack sites for family recreation.

  • bathroom services.

  • Camping is not allowed within the Reserve.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • The Magallanes Reserve is located about 7 km west of downtown Punta Arenas.

  • In Punta Arenas you can find additional services: Accommodation, Public and Private Transportation, Restaurants, Tourist Information Center, among others.

  • The Regional Hospital is located about 11 km from the Reserve.
