The Alberto de Agostini Park, owes its name to the Salesian priest who explored the imposing Darwin mountain range and its surroundings between 1913 and 1924, years later, in 1928, he would cross the eastern slope of the Southern Ice Field.

Located about 800 nautical miles south of Punta Arenas, in the Navarino commune.

The fauna that inhabits the park consists of at least 108 species, including the culpeo fox, chilla fox, leopard seal, dolphins, whales, sea lions, elephant seal, southern dolphin and Chilean dolphin.

You can find 49 species of birds, both terrestrial and marine, for example, the southern churrín, chercán, Dominican gull, petrel and fio-fío.

The flora is made up of virgin forests of Coigües, in addition to Canelos, Ciprés de las Guaitecas, Lengas, Ñirres and an undergrowth composed of hundreds of fungi, mosses and lichens, as well as Magellanic Tundra.

ACCESS TO THE PARK

  • The main access is by sea.

  • From the City of Punta Arenas, boats set sail to Puerto Williams, the navigation lasts 28 hours approx.

  • DAP Airlines has flights from Punta Arenas to Puerto Williams, the duration of which is just over an hour. From there you can hire a tour to the park.

  • High Season (October-April): National child (age equal to and less than 11 years old) income released.

  • National adolescent (12 to 17 years old) $ 2,000.

  • National adult $ 4,000.

  • National elderly (over 60 years) income released.

  • National disabled child (age equal to and less than 11 years old) released income.

  • National disabled adolescent (12 to 17 years old) income released.

  • Disabled national adult $ 2,000.

  • National elderly disabled person (over 60 years) income released.

  • Foreign child (age equal to and less than 11 years) income released.

  • Foreign adolescent (12 to 17 years old) $ 4,000.

  • Foreign adult and senior citizen (includes disabled) $ 8,000.

  • Low Season (May-September): Closed to visitors.

SERVICES WITHIN THE PARK

  • It is possible to go down in some fjords from where you can walk, to observe the flora and fauna, as well as the Darwin Mountain Range and its Ice Field.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • The park does not have infrastructure such as bathrooms, restaurants, accommodation, information center, camping or picnic area.

  • The wind is considerably strong, you must proceed with caution and be well equipped.

  • The climate can vary, so you should wear clothes and shoes suitable for rain and cold.

  • The closest cities and towns are: Punta Arenas, Puerto Williams, Villa Cameron and Porvenir.
